Types of J1 jobs Share

Work and Travel USA participants are hired for seasonal jobs in tourist centers (entertainments and national parks, resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops) throughout the United States. Such jobs are done during the summer months by American students and students from other countries who have come to the United States for the same or similar program. Program participants are expected to be responsible, serious, flexible, adaptable, conscientious and valuable.

The jobs usually fall into few categorys listed below:


1. In hotel :

Front desk clerk
Maintenance worker
Laundry worker

2. At restaurant :

Waiter / waitress
Host / hostess
Kitchen help
Banquet server

3.Store or supermarket
Retail sales assistant
Warehouse assistant

4.In amusement park :
Games / ride operator
Ticket sales

5.In fast food:
Kitchen help

7. In national parks/resorts – those are large in area , protected territories in the United States, which attracts many tourists because of the beautiful nature , historical and natural attractions .
